Kams, Inc. provides a full remanufacturing service for Caterpillar camshafts. We rebuild cams for industrial Caterpillar engines used for any application from on-highway vehicles to irrigation, from generators to natural gas compressors.
Caterpillar cam followers are another part of the complete camshaft service offered by us. We maintain the accuracy of the crowned profile on reground flat tappet lifters using our Adcole cam profile measurement machine so they will operate as designed. Our rebuilt roller cam followers for Caterpillar engines, including the 3500 and 3400 series lifters and 3406E rocker arms, include new rollers and pins.
We have nearly 40 years of experience in the camshaft business. We maintain the highest standards in our business, and therefore we do not weld Caterpillar camshasfts. Because of their design, when a Caterpillar cam lobe is welded, there is a high risk of the neighboring lobes losing their hardness. For our customers who need to convert a D399 diesel Cat cam to run on natural gas, we manufacture new G399 camshafts at our camshaft plant in Oklahoma City. These new cam cores meet or exceed original specifications in every way.
Kams, Inc. also pioneered the repair of big bore Cat diesel fuel injection pump camshafts and governor drives. We manufacture new splines to replace the worn splines for Caterpillar 399, 398, and 379 fuel cams and governor driveshafts. Of course these also come with our standard warranty.
